Let’s Emulate Governor Umo Eno’s Generosity- Rev Dr.Enobong Ibok tells AkwaIbomites

The General Overseer of the Eyak Ibong Akam Outreach and the Founder of the Enobong Ibok Charity Foundation, Dr. Mrs Enobong Ibok has admonished the people of Akwa Ibom state to emulate the generosity of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno who has passionately given his time and resources to the upliftment of the poor, needy and downtrodden in the society since he assumed office about twenty months ago.

Ibok who along with her spouse bagged Honourary Doctorate Degrees from the European American University recently for their work in helping the vulnerable in the society made this known in a chat with Global News Now newspaper, recently

While thanking previous Governors for all they did to advance the development of the state and better the lives of the people, Ibok added that Governor Umo Eno has done more in twenty months for the vulnerable

The woman of God said” ” I want to commend Governor Umo Eno for his passion to bettering the lot of the vulnerable in Akwa Ibom state. And he does it passionately. I can tell you that the Governor is doing the mind of Christ by providing food for the needy and building houses for them. He is a source of encouragement to me and I appreciate him. I call on AkwaIbomites to emulate Governor Umo Eno’s life of giving”

Advising the people of the state to support the Governor beyond 2027, Dr. Ibok said ” The people of the state should reciprocate the gestures of the Governor by voting for him massively to return for a second term in office. The Governor has been a blessing and he will continue to stand before kings. He will never go down. All of us in Akwa Ibom state have benefitted from his infrastructural renaissance, free and compulsory education, health programmes among other components of the ARISE Agenda. Voters registration will soon commence and all those without voters card should go and obtain one in order to prepare and vote for Governor Umo Eno to return to office in 2027″

Emphasizing the special place of youths in the development of the society she said” Youths should refrain from all forms of anti-social vices and use their strength to serve the Lord. The Governor is doing a lot for the youths and they should all support him”

Praying for the Governor, Dr. Ibok said” Governor Umo Eno is an answered prayer to Akwa Ibom state. God who has brought him this far will not let him down. Every weapon fashioned against him shall not prosper . Whoever digs a pit for him shall fall into it. Only with his eyes will he live to see the reward of the wicked and he will never be ashamed. Because he has considered the poor the Lord will deliver him from trouble. God will shield him from shame and embarrassment. God will not hand him over to the will of his enemies in Jesus name, amen”

Explaining that the number of persons requiring one form of assistance or the other is numerous she called on more selfless persons to join the Governor in this blessed endeavour.
“The Governor and the government cannot meet the needs of everyone, so those that have been blessed by God should be selfless enough to help the needy in our midst. There is a lot of blessing is helping the poor. The Bible says “Blessed is he that considers the poor. The Lord will deliver him in times of trouble. The Lord will not hand him over to the will of his enemies” This scripture in Psalm 41 encourages me to keep helping the vulnerable and I want more people to join and get blessed” She stated
Reflecting on her voyage in the selfless work of helping the poor and needy, Ibok revealed that originally when God called her into full time ministry, her focus was to preach the word of God, pray for the people and empower them spiritually explaining however that she was later to get God’s directive to get involved in helping the poor and needy, despite her concerns in the area of funding

She said with assurances from God to raise men that will fund the foundation, she began the herculean task trusting only in God adding that she went all over the local government areas of Akwa Ibom and found conditions that could only be better imagined

“I moved from local government to local government and I found shocking situations. I saw women who are 70 years and above and have no children. As a result they have no one to care for them, so they go on daily lacking the basic things of life. Some have children that abandoned them after labelling them as witches. So we located these women and have been providing for them through the support of our partners
We give out food items such as garri, yam and rice. In some cases we gave people mattresses and even renovated homes because some people lived in homes without doors”

She said that apart from her medical outreaches that attracts thousands of people, she has empowered 500 hundred persons with tangible items.

Painting the picture of the difficulties vulnerable persons face, she said there is a woman in her 70’s who has lost all her children with no one to care for her and presently lives in a house at Mbiokporo without a roof, calling on well meaning individuals to intervene and give the woman a decent existence.

She also cited the case of a widow Ekaette Etukudo whose son is on scholarship at Tower of Ivory school, Idoro road but went to school without food, revealing that ” . My Foundation has taken the challenge to sponsor school lunch for the fatherless child who is on scholarship at Tower of Ivory school, Abasifreke Etukudo for the entire duration of his study there. Etukudo and his mother went to squat with another widow who has many children and atimes they slept outside. So my Foundation rented an apartment for them, paid one year rent and gave her N30,000 to start groundnut business”
